The world-famous company involved with computer

There are many famous companies in computer markets. Today, I will introduce two companies of these: Intel, Oracle.

Intel

This company may be known for its interesting commercial like below.

But many people may not know what this company does. Intel is an American multinational semiconductor corporation. The name 'Intel' derives from the words 'Integrated Electronics.  Incidentally, Football Club Internazionale Milano　has nothing to do with it, just called the same name in Japan.

 As a semiconductor, Intel makes microprocessors, chipsets and flash memory mainly. Especially, it is famous for its excellent microprocessors. It is said that more than 90 percents of CPU(≒microprocessor) in world computers are made by Intel. In a lot of Intel's product,Pentium series are most famous.This is a bland used for a series of x86-compatible microprocessors. Almost of it have two cores and its processing speed is very high.　Intel made Core series and Celeron series as well. 

 Incidentally, CPU is made mainly by two companies: Intel, AMD. We must be careful in choosing the CPU because there is no compatibility between the two companies' product.

Oracle

 Oracle Corporation is an American multinational computer technology corporation that specializes in developing and marketing hardware systems and software products -especially database management systems(DBMS). Oracle is world's second largest software company now(the first is Microsoft Corporation). 

 Its most famous　product is Oracle Database. It is a kind of relational database management systems(RDBMS), that is based on the relational model as introduced by E. O. Codd. This product have enabled us to deal with a lot of data in various fields.

The history of computers

Point To Be Noted

 The word "computers" includes very large realm of things: computer like simple soroban ,　family computer(made by NINTENDO), one that we usually use in school or office. Describing the all is so difficult　jobs that I will do computers that we usually use everyday. About this, I will write two as follows.

1. What is the first computer?
2. Who invented it and when it was made?

1. What is the First Computer?

　The computers we use everyday are called 'von Neuman type computer'.　Today, almost all of computers are this type. 

　The feature of this type of computer is that it includes programs and required dates in it while former types of computer have it in the form of hardware. Including programs and dates enable computes to　flexible managements , for changing of electric wiring　has not been needed: in former type of computer, the form of electric wiring represents programs, which leads to the fact that change of programs need to changing of form of electric wiring, requiring a lot of effort. 

　Unfortunately, von Neuman type of computer also has weak points: Von Neumann bottleneck. In this type of computer, main memory, which stores programs and required dates, and CPU, which dose arithmetic processing and return results, are separated, leading to delay of transfer of dates. Finally, our work has been delayed. 

   To deal with this weak point, cache has been made. Cache is small and fast memory, which is in or near CPU. By cache storing dates, processing speed become fast dramatically.

2. Who Invented it and When it Made?

 Von Neuman type computer was invented by John von Neumann(1903-1957) in the late 1940s. He is a Hungarian mathematician and called one of the important persons in the 20th century. He not only invented the computer as above but also contributed　to invention of nuclear bomb. He assisted Manhattan Project　technologically. Also, he has the one of the greatest talent in the world. For example, it is said that he had been learned infinitesimal calculus at the age of 8 and could learn the all number in a phone book. Furthermore, he advocated theory of games, which still contributes economics.

How comfortable computer make our life

Our life has become more and more comfortable day by day. That owes a lot to computer. In this article, I show you something that computer makes and is used by many people.

In Medical Field

In medical field, computers play many important roles, which lead to efficient and exact medical treatments.For example, medical imaging technology and image diagnosis support system are famous example of apply of computer.

 The former make it possible to get more precise images of lesioned part, such as a tumor.Therefore, lesioned parts that cannot be founded before has been founded by that technology, which leads to　early detection of unusual part in body.But, this create new problems: although the accuracy of lesioned parts-images is great, doctors cannot analyze these because the number of these images are too many, over 1000 per one person.Effort per doctor is too large.

　However, the later has been solving this problems.In this systems, a doctor and computer collaborate with each other to find lesioned parts, which is done by two doctors before, leading to less efforts. 


 Besides, new systems, medical information-sharing system  also support doctors and patients. This system enables doctors to share patients' medical data easily thorough computer network in a hospital, clinic and so on. By being shared these data, patients can get further more  treatments.
